About Carlos and Marilyn Benemann

36 years ago we took a wrong turn off from Highway 101 and headed across Fernbridge. We have been in love with Ferndale ever since.

We own a two-story Craftsman house, built in 1912, right across the yard from the Francis Street Vacation Home. We owned antiquarian bookstores in Ferndale and Eureka for 25 years, until Marilyn retired. Carlos continues his career as a California court certified Spanish and German interpreter.

We love talking with our guests about books, foreign travel, horses and the good life in Humboldt County. Francis Street Vacation Home was built as a retirement dream home for Carlos’ parents. We now want to share it with you.
